Le livre est une collection d’entretiens, d’homélies et d’essais écrits et livrés par Ganswein. Il a été publié en anglais le 15 avril par EWTN Publishing.
«L’Évangile ne change pas selon les temps, il est révélé par le Christ si nous cherchons à proclamer et à vivre selon lui« en saison et hors saison », selon les mots de saint Paul», a expliqué Ganswein dans une interview avec ACI Stampa, partenaire de nouvelles en langue italienne de l’AIIC.
Ganswein, 63 ans, occupe le premier rang des dirigeants de l’Église universelle depuis 2005. Cette année-là, son patron, le cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, est devenu pape Benoît XVI.
Ganswein était alors secrétaire privé de Ratzinger et a continué à assumer ce rôle pendant que Benoît prenait la papauté. Il était l’assistant le plus proche de Benoît et, en 2012, il est devenu préfet de la maison pontificale, supervisant le clergé et le personnel le plus proche du pape. Lorsque Francis a été élu pape en 2013, Ganswein a conservé ce rôle, tout en continuant à exercer les fonctions de secrétaire particulier de l’ancien pape.
Mais le livre de Ganswein ne se concentre pas sur son service au Vatican. Au lieu de cela, il se concentre sur un appel aux catholiques à vivre fidèlement et joyeusement dans la communion de l’Église.
«Je voulais transmettre que la simple connaissance intellectuelle des Saintes Écritures ou de la foi catholique ne porte aucun fruit. Cela reste un savoir stérile s’il n’est pas «incarné» dans notre vie personnelle », a déclaré l’archevêque à ACI Stampa.
«Nous apprenons notre foi comme nous apprenons à nager: non pas en lisant un manuel, mais en fait en nageant. Ainsi la foi devient chair, devient une réalité concrète en la vivant. Il était une fois un catéchuménat, c’est-à-dire un temps où les gens étaient initiés concrètement à la vie et à la doctrine chrétiennes. Ils avanceraient pas à pas, grandiraient progressivement, deviendraient plus forts, et ainsi, en vivant la foi, ils découvriraient la beauté du message chrétien. Soit la foi est vécue, soit morte. »
Le livre, a expliqué l’archevêque, a commencé par «une invitation d’un éditeur allemand à publier certains textes de mon activité« pastorale »au cours des dernières années. J’ai accepté avec plaisir et envoyé à l’éditeur, comme vous l’avez observé, un ensemble de conférences, d’homélies et d’interviews. À partir de cette collection, l’œil expert de l’éditeur a choisi les écrits publiés dans le présent livre. »
«Notre époque nécessite des témoignages courageux et convaincants. Les témoignages sont source de joie, de joie grande et forte. C’est ainsi que l’Église aura un avenir! Je voulais rappeler aux lecteurs de ne pas oublier ce fait simple mais fondamental », a ajouté l’archevêque.

Mas um novo livro recolhe a sabedoria do próprio Ganswein e visa chamar os católicos à evangelização e à alegria.
A Agência de Notícias RECOWACERAO indicou que no livro “Como a Igreja Católica pode restaurar nossa cultura”. Ganswein disse: “Se você gostaria de ter três palavras-chave, aqui estão elas: Evangelização. Testemunho. Alegria,”
O livro é uma coleção de entrevistas, homilias e ensaios escritos e entregues por Ganswein. Foi publicado em inglês em 15 de abril pela EWTN Publishing.
“O evangelho não muda de acordo com os tempos, é revelado por Cristo se procurarmos proclamar e viver de acordo com Ele ’em tempo e fora de tempo’, nas palavras de São Paulo”, explicou Ganswein em entrevista ao ACI Stampa, parceiro de notícias em italiano da CNA.

Ganswein estava servindo como secretário particular de Ratzinger e continuou nesse papel quando Bento assumiu o papado. O livro, explicou o arcebispo, começou com “um convite de uma editora alemã para publicar alguns textos da minha atividade” pastoral “nos últimos anos. Felizmente aceitei e enviei ao editor, como você observou, uma coleção de conferências, homilias e entrevistas. Nesta coleção, o especialista do editor escolheu os escritos publicados neste livro. ”

But a new book collects the wisdom of Ganswein himself and aims to call Catholics to evangelization, and to joy.

The book is a collection of interviews, homilies, and essays written and delivered by Ganswein. It was published in English on April 15 by EWTN Publishing.
“The Gospel does not change according to the times, it is revealed by Christ if we seek to proclaim and live according to Him ‘in season and out of season,’ in the words of St. Paul,” Ganswein explained in an interview with ACI Stampa, CNA’s Italian-language news partner.
Ganswein, 63, has had a front-row seat to the leadership of the universal Church since 2005. In that year, his boss, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, became Pope Benedict XVI.
Ganswein was then serving as Ratzinger’s private Secretary and continued in that role as Benedict took up the papacy. He was Benedict’s closest aide, and in 2012 became prefect of the pontifical household, overseeing the clergy and staff closest to the pope. When Francis was elected pope in 2013, Ganswein kept that role, while also continuing to serve as private secretary to the former pope.
But Ganswein’s book does not focus on his Vatican service. Instead, it focuses on a call for Catholics to live faithfully and joyfully in the communion of the Church.
“I wanted to convey that mere intellectual knowledge of the Sacred Scriptures or the Catholic faith does not bring any fruit. It remains a fruitless knowledge if it is not ‘incarnated’ in our personal life,” the archbishop told ACI Stampa.
“We learn our faith like we learn to swim: not reading a manual, but actually swimming. So the faith becomes flesh, becomes a concrete reality by living it. Once upon a time there was a catechumenate, that is, a time in which people were introduced in a concrete way to the Christian life and doctrine. They would move forward step by step, gradually growing, becoming stronger, and thus, by living the faith, they would discover the beauty of the Christian message. Either faith is lived or is dead.”
The book, the archbishop explained, began with “an invitation from a German publisher to publish some texts of my ‘pastoral’ activity in the last years. I happily accepted and sent the publisher, as you have observed, a collection of conferences, homilies, and interviews. From this collection, the expert eye of the editor has chosen the writings published in the present book.”
“Our times require courageous and convincing testimonies. Testimonies are a source of joy, great and strong joy. This is how the Church will have a future! I wanted to remind readers not to forget this simple but fundamental fact,” the archbishop added.
