A celebração da liturgia na Igreja Católica não é um “show”, advertiu o arcebispo Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, da arquidiocese de Abuja, na Nigéria, e pediu moderação por parte dos fiéis e membros do clero.
O Arcebispo Kaigama, que presidia a Celebração Eucarística por ocasião da Solenidade do Santíssimo Corpo e Sangue de Cristo (Corpus Christi), domingo, 6 de junho em Nossa Senhora Rainha da Nigéria Pró-Catedral Católica da Arquidiocese de Abuja, encorajou a participação no Sacramento de Penitência.
A celebração litúrgica, disse ele, “não é um‘ show ’ou um piquenique onde os adoradores exibem sua dança de discoteca estilosa e os pregadores demonstram suas habilidades oratórias, acompanhadas de apresentações acrobáticas, para impressionar os fiéis.”
“Venha cedo para a missa; esteja em silêncio e em oração ”, disse o arcebispo Kaigama, e acrescentou:“ Cante e dance, mas ciente de que estamos na presença do Senhor ”.
Ele pediu moderação no uso de telefones celulares durante as celebrações litúrgicas, dizendo: “Evite o uso descontrolado de telefones celulares ou câmeras durante a missa”.
A participação na celebração eucarística exige preparação, disse o Arcebispo nigeriano, acrescentando: “A confissão sacramental é uma preparação necessária para a recepção da Eucaristia”.
Refletindo sobre a solenidade de Corpus Christi, durante a qual se celebra a presença real do Corpo e do Sangue de Jesus Cristo na Eucaristia, Dom Kaigama disse que para os fiéis católicos a Eucaristia é “o bálsamo e o remédio eficazes mesmo durante as tempestades muito violentas. perseguição, controvérsia, comportamentos escandalosos decorrentes da fraqueza humana. ”

Il a exhorté à la retenue dans l’utilisation des téléphones portables pendant les célébrations liturgiques en disant : “Évitez l’utilisation incontrôlée de téléphones portables ou d’appareils photo pendant la messe”.
Participer à la célébration eucharistique nécessite une préparation, a déclaré l’archevêque nigérian, ajoutant: “La confession sacramentelle est une préparation nécessaire à la réception de l’Eucharistie”.
Réfléchissant à la solennité du Corpus Christi au cours de laquelle est célébrée la présence réelle du Corps et du Sang de Jésus-Christ dans l’Eucharistie, Mgr Kaigama a déclaré que pour les fidèles catholiques, l’Eucharistie est « le baume et le médicament efficaces même lors de tempêtes très persécution, controverse, comportements scandaleux résultant de la faiblesse humaine.

“Come early for Mass; be in a prayerful silent mood,” Archbishop Kaigama said, and added, “Sing and dance, but aware that we are in the presence of the Lord.”
He urged restraint in the use of mobile phones during liturgical celebrations saying, “Avoid the uncontrolled use of cell phones or cameras during Mass.”
Taking part in the Eucharistic celebration requires preparation, the Nigerian Archbishop said, adding, “Sacramental confession is a necessary preparation for the reception of the Eucharist.”
Reflecting on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi during which the real presence of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is celebrated, Archbishop Kaigama said that for the Catholic faithful, the Eucharist is “the effective balm and medicine even during very violent storms, persecution, controversy, scandalous behaviors arising from human weakness.”
While taking part in the Eucharistic celebration, Christians have “no room for individualism,” he said, adding in reference to the Eucharist, “It is a meal of love and unity that excludes no one, no matter how socially disadvantaged.”
The 62-year-old Nigerian Archbishop who was also celebrating his fortieth Priestly anniversary went on to say, “Since my ordination, the Eucharist has been my sustaining force, my soothing balm, and my source of both spiritual and physical energy and my motivation to forge ahead in my priesthood despite the challenges from within and without.”
“The Eucharist is the noblest of all gifts to me. In the last forty years, it has been the oxygen of my priesthood,” Archbishop Kaigama said on the 6th day of June.
