Dans ses paroles d’assurance aux communicateurs, le Dr Ruffini a cité une phrase en KiSwahili, «Tuko Pamoja», qui signifie «Nous sommes ensemble». Le Dr Ruffini a ensuite relaté son affinité et sa proximité personnelles avec l’Afrique et ses habitants. Il a raconté comment, il y a de nombreuses années, il a été touché par le document du pape Saint-Paul VI, «Africae terrarium» du 29 octobre 1967, no. 1. Dans ce document, le Pape Saint Paul VI expose sa vision de la mission sociale de l’Église en Afrique.
«Je me sens fortement lié à l’Afrique et aux Africains depuis mon enfance. Depuis quand le Pape Saint Paul VI, a écrit, citant (l’Apôtre) Saint Paul que «la voix du peuple africain, semblable à celle entendue dans le rêve de Saint Paul alors qu’il était à Troade (Actes 16: 9), continue de résonner dans nos âmes: Venez, aidez-nous, il est temps », a raconté la Communication Perfect.
RECOWACERAO NEWS AGENCY, RECONA a appris que le Dr Ruffini s’exprimait depuis le Vatican, lorsqu’il a officiellement ouvert un webinaire pour les communicateurs catholiques d’Afrique qui se sont réunis dans une conférence virtuelle, pour commémorer 70 ans d’émissions de Radio Vatican en langue anglaise en Afrique.
Le thème du webinaire organisé conjointement par le Service anglais pour l’Afrique de Radio Vatican et SIGNIS Afrique était: «Le récit comme outil pour gérer les tribulations raciales et sociales en Afrique.
Le Dr Ruffini a rappelé au forum en ligne que, à bien des égards, la communication était à double tranchant: elle pouvait être soit un moyen de construire un monde meilleur, soit un mécanisme pour inciter aux malentendus, aux ressentiments et même à l’inimitié.
D’après Vatican News, RECONA était au courant du fait que le préfet du dicastère a en outre annoncé son intention de créer une agence de presse du Vatican. Il a appelé à la participation éventuelle, à cet effort, de tous les praticiens des médias catholiques africains.
Parmi les autres orateurs de l’événement figuraient l’évêque nigérian Emmanuel Badejo, un évêque populaire connu dans le monde entier pour ses compétences en communication. D’autres sont, un prêtre jésuite bien connu, le P. Federico Lombardi, SJ; Mère Mary Claude Oguh du Nigéria; Mme Sheila Pires d’Afrique du Sud et le P. Prof. Walter Ihejirika. Ce dernier est également le président de SIGNIS Afrique.

O Dr. Ruffini lembrou ao fórum on-line que, em muitos aspectos, a comunicação era de dois gumes: poderia ser um meio para construir um mundo melhor ou um mecanismo para incitar mal-entendidos, ressentimentos e até inimizade.
Das Notícias do Vaticano, a RECONA teve conhecimento do fato de que o Prefeito do Dicastério anunciou ainda planos para o estabelecimento de uma Agência de Notícias do Vaticano. Ele pediu a eventual participação, neste esforço, de todos os praticantes da mídia católica africana.

Information reaching the office of the Director of RECOWACERAO NEWS AGENCY, RECONA has it that the Prefect of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communications, Dr. Paolo Ruffini has told Catholic Communicators from the African continent that the Holy See stands firm with them as they go about their communication ministry.
In his words of assurance to the communicators, Dr. Ruffini quoted a KiSwahili phrase, “Tuko Pamoja,” which means, “We are together.” Dr Ruffini further narrated his personal affinity and closeness with Africa and its people. He spoke of how, many years ago, he was touched by Pope Saint Paul VI’s document, “Africae terrarium” of 29 October 1967, no. 1. In this document, Pope Saint Paul VI outlines his Vision for the Church’s social mission in Africa.
“I feel strongly linked with Africa and African people since when I was a child. Since when Pope Saint Paul VI, wrote, quoting (the Apostle) Saint Paul that “the voice of the African people, similar to that heard in the dream by Saint Paul while he was in Troade (Acts 16: 9), continues to resound in our souls: Come, help us, it is time,” recounted the Communication Perfect.
RECOWACERAO NEWS AGENCY, RECONA gathered that Dr Ruffini was speaking from the Vatican, when he officially opened a Webinar for Catholic Communicators of Africa who reunited in a virtual conference, to commemorate 70 years of Vatican Radio broadcasts in the English language to Africa.
The theme of the Webinar jointly organized by the English Africa Service of Vatican Radio and SIGNIS Africa was: “Story-telling as a tool to manage racial and social tribulations in Africa.”
Dr. Ruffini reminded the online forum that, in many aspects, communication was double-edged: It could either be a means to building a better world or a mechanism for inciting misunderstandings, resentments, and even enmity.
From the Vatican News, RECONA was privy to the fact that the Prefect of the Dicastery further announced plans for the establishment of a Vatican News Agency. He called for the eventual participation, in this effort, by all Catholic African media practitioners.
Other speakers in the event included Nigerian Bishop Emmanuel Badejo, a popular bishop known all over the world for his communication skills. Others are, a well-known Jesuit priest, Fr. Federico Lombardi, SJ; Mother Mary Claude Oguh of Nigeria; Ms. Sheila Pires of South Africa and Fr. Prof. Walter Ihejirika. The latter is also the SIGNIS Africa President.
