[19:09, 09/07/2026] Mgr Joseph Aka BP 1555 Yamoussokro: Alas! Alas! What a sorrow!
It is with a deep heavy heart that I learn of the passing on of a prelate who loved and respected me, and whom I loved and respected in return. He has gone ad Patrem, joining the company of the Fathers, leaving behind an immense void and deep sorrow.
In the face of such grief, words seem utterly inadequate, but our pious thoughts and our solidarity are our greatest weapons in sympathising with the sorrow of the People of God in Benin City. As the Latin poet Virgil so aptly wrote in The Aeneid:
Sunt lacrimae rerum et mentem mortalia tangunt. There are tears for the misfortunes of this world, and mortal things touch the human heart.
May our senior brother rest …
